New Day and Time
Over the last few weeks we have been experimenting with different days and times for the Slo-Polk Net to meet. Weekends have proved problematic due to the high level of contesting traffic. Also, in some cases, noise appears to increase as we move into the later hours. To address both issues we have moved the meeting date and time to Wednesdays at 8:00PM. The primary frequency will be 7.041.5, secondary, 7.060.0. Looking forward to your signal report Wednesday.

Net Control KS4JI, Gary Lakeland

WD5CNC, Cecil, Arkansas
The net met earlier this evening at 6 PM rather than the usual 9 o'clock time to determine if noise would be less and propagation better at this time than later in the evening. QRM was high at our primary, and only bearable at the secondary. The good news is that we had a surprise visit from Cecil, WD5CNC who hails from Arkansas.
Gary will monitor the band this week to determine if there is a better day for the net in terms of both noise and traffic. Please feel free to join him in this and make suggestions directly to him at KS4JI@yahoo.com.

Highlights:
Terry is looking for someone with aluminum arc welding experience. He is working on an antenna project, and would like to discuss his project with a knowledgeable person. In addition to amateur radio, Terry's farm keeps him busy. Never a dull day down on the farm. Hi hi.
Bill investigated two techniques for measuring transmitter output power last week. With some help from his friends, he now thinks he understands both the electronics and math.
Gary is back from his camping trip. He had a good time. Being a retired, but part time pastor, keeps him pretty busy. In addition to amateur radio, Gary also participates in MARS, and has just updated to new software.
